St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The men's soccer team fell to conference rival Martin Luther 2-3 on Saturday.
The game started in unfortunate fashion, with Crown scoring on themselves with an own goal, followed by another quick Martin Luther score, putting Crown down 0-2 in the first 12 minutes.
The Crown College Storm hustled back, dominating time of possession, which eventually led to a goal by senior
Sam Eckman (Edinboro, Penn./Dalat School), assisted by junior
Storm Heyer (Zimmerman/Zimmerman).
Crown tied the game early in the second half, with a goal by Heyer, who was this time assisted by Eckman.
The increasingly physical game stayed at a standstill until the 69th minute, where Crown had a miscommunication on defense that led to a second own goal, the final score of the game.
Crown looks to rebound in a home game against North Central on Wednesday, 4:15 pm.
