St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The men's soccer team won in unexpected fashion on Saturday, defeating 6-1 North Central to secure new men's soccer coach
Luke Herbert's first win.
The men scored twice in the first half to gain an early lead. The first by senior
Sam Eckman (Edinboro, Penn./Dalat School) and the second by junior
Storm Heyer (Zimmerman/Zimmerman), coming off of a nice assist by fellow junior
Ger Jones (Bethel, Wales/Brynrefail School).
In the second half, the Rams scored early in the 57th minute by the freshman
Josue Boutouli (Lome, Togo/Eagan) on a give and go with sophomore
Noah Ramsby (Detroit, Mich./Parkway Christian) supply the assist.
The rain held off until after the game, as the Storm held off the conference rival Rams, not allowing a comeback victory, to win their first game of the season.
The Storm continues their season at home Saturday, 4:15 pm, against Northland.
