Ashland, Wis. – The Crown men's soccer team played 110 more minutes on Saturday, settling for their third draw of the season. The tie with Northland College earned the Storm one point in the UMAC standings, but after giving away a late penalty allowing the Jacks to tie the score, it feels more like losing two points than winning one.
Josiah Steinkamp continued his excellent run of form, scoring to put Crown ahead in the 68
th minute, and the Storm kept pressure on the Northland keeper all day, firing 27 shots for the game.
Crown could only find the one goal, however, and with a little more than five minutes to play, the Jacks won a penalty and Will Gibbens slotted it home to tie things at 1-1.
After 20 minutes of extra time, the scores would remain at one apiece.
Crown sits at 1-1-2 after four conference games, with a stretch of six home games in front of them, including four UMAC clashes.
