Mankato, Minn. - The Crown College softball team traveled to Mankato on Wednesday for two UMAC games against the Vikings of Bethany Lutheran. Crown brought their bats with them as they collected 26 hits over the two games and backed it up with superior defense only allowing three runs between the two games winning game one 8-0 and game two 12-3.

Deadlocked at 0-0 heading into the top of the third inning, Crown got on the board with a Sofia Palacios single that brought in Kate McLaughlin. Crown was then helped by some errors and wild pitching as four more runs came in to go up 5-0. Crown would add another in the fourth as Alisha Promis singled to bring in Kate McLaughlin to go up 6-0. Marissa Becerra rounded out the scoring with a two run home run in the top of the sixth inning to end the game with the eight run rule.

In game two, Crown was down 1-0 in the top of the fourth before Kendra Magaard hit a two run double to center field to put Crown up 2-1. The Vikings would answer right away with a two run homerun to take the lead back 3-2. Crown would outscore the Vikings 10-0 over the final three innings to take the game 12-3.
