St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Crown College took their four game win streak into this weekend looking to shore up a place in the UMAC post season facing the Eagles of Northwestern who they trailed in the UMAC standings. The Eagles fought back the challenging Storm holding onto third place as they swept Crown in the double header 10-3 in game one and 6-1 in game two.
Northwestern took game one behind some strong offense out hitting the Storm fifteen to six as Crown committed three errors as well.
Kendra Magaard collected two of the six hits and
Cassidy Valenzuela hit another homerun to lead the Storm offensively.
Game two was more of a defensive struggle, but the Eagles converted more of their scoring opportunities as Crown would strand 11 runners on base.
Sofia Palacios and
Sarah Petkau each had three hits as
Alisha Promis had two.
Crown is still fourth in the UMAC standings at 6-5 with an important double header against Morris on Wednesday at home.
