St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown College welcomed the Finlandia University Lions for a non-conference women's basketball game this past Thursday. Last year, Crown defeated the Lions by a 67-59 final score. This time around, the Lions got the better of Crown behind some ridiculous shooting from behind the arc to win 55-45.
Crown found themselves down 29-17 at the half behind a poor shooting performance from the field. The second half saw the Lions hit back to back threes to open play before Crown locked down defensively. Crown eventually cut the lead to seven around the 10:53 mark but another three from Lions senior Marissa Burke kept Crown at bay. She would hit eight threes on the night after going 0-14 from the field the night before.
Crown was led by
Desiree Davis and
Leah Breakfield who had 10 points apiece as
Andrea Besa chipped in eight.
Jessica Klaustermeier led the Storm in rebounding with nine. Crown shot a chilly 30.2% from the field as a team.
