New Ulm, Minn. – The Crown women's soccer team was shutout in two games against UMAC opponents this past weekend, losing 7-0 at Minnesota Morris and 1-0 at Martin Luther. The losses drop Crown's conference record to 2-10 on the year, with two games left in the season.
Crown opened the weekend at Minnesota Morris, who are currently tied atop the UMAC standings and haven't allowed a goal all season. The Storm mustered just three shots on the afternoon, with just one troubling the Cougar's keeper.
Saturday brought a matchup with Martin Luther, currently in third place in the league table. The Knights scored early, after about 15 minutes, and that 1-0 score would hold up as Crown would fail to score for eighth time in 12 games.
Crown wraps up the 2014 campaign on the road with matches against North Central and Northwestern this coming weekend.
