Greenville, Ill. - Crown College travelled to Greenville, Illinois this past Saturday for their latest UMAC contest in the 2014 campaign. After another hard fought battle, Crown found themselves on the losing end of a 35-17 score.
Down 21-7 after the half, Crown rallied behind backup quarterback
Ryan Synoground who replaced injured starter
Brandon McCormick. Synoground threw two touchdowns in the game, both to
Elijah Bryant and the defense held throughout the third quarter as Crown controlled the ball for 13 of the 15 minutes. As Crown got the ball back in the fourth quarter, a trick play set up perfectly dashed the hopes of the Storm as a reverse fell to a fumble giving the ball back to Greenville. They would capitalize and Crown would never recover.
Crown was led by a staunch defensive effort by
Chris Strange and
Eli Dahl. Offensively, Crown was limited to 235 yards and only 86 on the ground.
Next weekend will see the Storm back at home under the lights to take on the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars.
