Since 2011, Jamie Ross has served as Crown College Women's Soccer and Softball's Head Coach and along the way has earned two Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Coach of the Year awards. In 2013, Ross was named the next Crown College Director of Athletics, running the Athletic Department along with coaching both sports.
During his tenure, Ross has transformed the Crown Softball program, making the UMAC Playoffs for the first time in Crown's NCAA-era in 2015, hosted a UMAC Playoff game in 2016, and winning their first UMAC Playoff game in 2017 (7-0 over Northwestern). The team went on to win another Playoff game in 2018, completing a streak of four straight berths in the UMAC Playoffs. Ross has won a total of 88 softball games, nearing the impressive 100 win accomplishment. Players have flourished under Ross' leadership, with 19 selections to UMAC All-Conference teams, 12 UMAC Player of the Week awards, two UMAC All-Defensive Team selections, and one UMAC Player of the Year honor in 2018.
In addition, Crown College's Women's Soccer program has had success with Ross at the helm with 31 Crown wins and 15 UMAC All-Conference Selections. In 2017, the Storm Women's Soccer team was honored with the UMAC Sportsmanship Team Award.
Before coming to Crown, Ross had collegiate coaching experience after spending one year as an assistant coach in the women's soccer program at Hartwick College and four years as an assistant at Utica College. He has also been an assistant men's soccer coach at Westfield State College.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Ross spent four years as the girls’ varsity soccer coach at Lenox High School where he guided his team to two Western Massachusetts Division III Championships. He also spent four years working with the softball team at Lenox High School. He also served as the Westfield State College assistant men's soccer coach.
He has earned both his advanced national diploma and his national goalkeeper diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). During the summer of 2009, he earned the United States Soccer Federation B License. In May of 2009, Ross earned his master's degree in education from Utica College.
Ross, originally from Lenox, Mass., was a three-sport athlete at Toccoa Falls in Georgia. He was a striker on the Eagles' men's soccer team, a point guard on the basketball team, and an infielder on the baseball team.
