St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown Women's Soccer team took on Bethel (MN) at home for a non-conference bout with the Royals on Friday evening and fell by a score of 6-0.
The first twenty minutes of play were back and forth as neither team had gained a clear advantage. With a few back to back corner kicks the Polars found a few opportunites to get the ball in the offensive zone but could not capitalize. With 27:20 to go in the first half the Royals scored the first goal of the contest and found the back of the net three more times to take a 4-0 halftime lead.
Bethel extended the lead in the second half to 6-0. Ashley Pierce found a few good looks driving the ball in towards the net but was unable to score as she totaled 3 shots and 2 on goal. Ester Roper played in goal and totaled 8 saves.
Crown will look to find their first win of the season next Saturday, September 21st with their homecoming matchup against the University of Northwestern Eagles at 12:30pm.
