St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Men's Soccer team hosted the North Central Rams on Saturday evening and came out on top 4-2.
Crown struck quickly, in the first two minutes to be specific, as a great ball in from
Luke Kamm gave
Santiago Ciro an opportunity that he capitalized on for Ciro's second goal of the season. The next thirty minutes were back and forth as the Polars scored their second goal of the match off a deflection that
Joaquin Silva put into the back of the net. A goal from North Central in the 38th minute cut the Crown lead to 2-1. Just two minutes later the Polars answered and this time it was Isaac Shulz who scored his first career goal and the half ended at 3-1 Crown out in front.
The second half saw an early answer from the Rams. Crown would end up with an opportunity on a free kick just outside the box that
Marcus Banegas took, and after a beautiful ball in
Serni Batalla rose high above the Rams defense and sent a header in for his fourth goal of the season. The score would finish 4-2 in the Polars favor.
Crown saw goals from Ciro, Silva, Schulz, and Batalla. Both
Marcus Banegas and
Luke Kamm added assists on the evening. Goalkeeper
Leo Roque totaled 5 saves in the contest.
The Polars move to 4-6-1 on the year and 3-2-1 in UMAC play. They will head to Superior, Wisconsin for a match with UW-Superior on Tuesday, October 3rd at 1pm.
