Late Goal Dooms Polars in 1-0 Loss to Knights

New Ulm, MN - The Polars headed on the road to face off with the Martin Luther Knights after a reschedule and fell 1-0 in the 78th minute.

Crown's offense bombarded the Knights with ten shots in the first fifteen minutes. The Polars stood even with the Knights for the entire first half as the score held at 0-0. Martin Luther found their tiebreaking goal with just twelve minutes remaining. Crown had an opportunity to tie the match in the waning minutes but were unable to as the final score read 1-0.

The Polars outshot the Knights 28 to 11, as Crown finished with 17 shots on goal compared to 6 of the Knights. Ashley Pierce fired away eleven shots with six of them being on the mark. Rachel Fuller played all 90 minutes in goal and totaled five saves.  

Crown falls to 1-6-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in UMAC play, as the Polars head to Bethany Lutheran for a 7pm match on the road Wednesday, September 27th.
