Box Score Arden Hills, MN - Polars Men's Soccer faced off with a MIAC foe on Saturday and fell by a score of 1-0 to Bethel.
A very even matched first half started with a couple of shots from Bethel and a yellow card that was given to Crown.The Polars did not take their first shot until 33 minutes into the contest. Bethel led in shots 9-1 but neither team was able to score as the score stayed even at 0-0.
The second half got a bit more physical as the stalemate ensued. Six cards were given in the second half, three to both sides. A red card given to
Marcus Banegas gave Bethel an opportunity to play with the upper hand, and the Royals capitalized taking the 1-0 with less than 15 minutes to play. A few late shots from Crown did not find the back of the net and the score finished at 1-0.
Luke Kamm had two shots, both on goal while two other Polars took shots in the contest.
Leo Roque played the whole match as the goalkeeper and totaled 5 saves.
Crown falls to 0-2 on the season and will head back on the road on Friday, September 8th to take on Edgewood College at 3pm.
