St. Joseph, MN - The Crown College Polars dropped their second contest of the UMAC tournament to the Northwestern Eagles on Saturday 11-0. Crown finished the season with the most wins since 2019 and first UMAC playoff appearance since 2018.
The Eagles took control of the contest early scoring one in the first inning.
Ashley Earick started the game with a leadoff walk and a stolen base. After a single from
Maria Lilienthal Earick was thrown out gunning for the plate. The Eagles scored two more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning after two scoreless innings from Crown. A few stranded baserunners and an eight run inning from Northwestern is where it would finish with Crown falling 11-0.
Abbie Carrol took the circle for Crown and pitched through three innings of play and was relieved by
Lindsay Glover.
Maria Lilienthal went 2-2 for Crown as she totaled the only two hits from the Polars.
Crown finishes the season 12-29 after reaching the UMAC tournament for the first time since 2018.
