St. Bonifacius, Minn. –
Emma Domka completed her hat-trick just under 10 minutes into the second half and the Polars dominated visiting Faith Baptist to claim a season-opening 6-0 victory. Crown outshot the Eagles 22-6 and controlled possession for almost the entire game.
First-year
Lexi Shreve opened the scoring just under eight minutes into the game and then Domka,
Ashley Pierce and
Ella Hosmer added goals in the 19
th, 30
th, and 37
th minutes respectively.
Domka scored two excellent goals less than six minutes apart to open the second half, completing her hat-trick and the scoring for the afternoon. The fist was a curling effort into the far corner as the Crown forward cut in on her favored right foot from the left wing and the second was almost a mirror image of the first with the junior cutting back to her left foot and rifling a shot into the roof of the net at the near post.
Crown's pressure and possession overwhelmed the Eagles as the hosts shut out their NCCAA opponents and limited their chances throughout.
Riley Breitlow and
Naomi Grein combined to make five saves in keeping a clean sheet.
Crown will return to the pitch on Saturday for exhibition matchup with Providence College.
