Polars Race at Loaded St. Olaf Invitational

Northfield, Minn. – 587 runners competed over the weekend at the St. Olaf invitational as the Crown men's and women's cross country teams took part in one of the region's biggest races this fall.

Abby Pausch placed fifth among UMAC competitors and 71st overall in a field of 260 runners in a time of 25:22.7 over the six kilometer course. That time was good enough to best her previous mark for this event by 51 seconds.

Greta Greniger also competed for the Polars, finishing in a time of 32:43.

For the men, Crown placed 20th out of 24 teams in a meet that boasted 327 runners.

The Polars were led by Jeremiah VanAcker who finished 134th overall in a time of 28:27.3 over eight kilometers.

Austin Carlson also broke the half-hour barrier, finishing with a time of 29:48.6.

Josh Hagen, Michael Gregoria, and Ethan Safford rounded out the team score for the Polars.

The teams will have a week off and next compete at the Blugold Invitational on September 30th.
