Men’s Soccer Falls in Seven Goal Thriller

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Despite leading 2-0 early in the contest, the Polar men's soccer team eventually succumbed to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of visiting Rockford College.  Three different players scored for the home team who are still searching for their first victory of the season.

Crown got on the board in the 14th minute on AJ Anderson-Sanchez's second goal of the season.  The defender scored a looping header off a corner kick to stake Crown to the early 1-0 lead.  Juan Fernando Arriaga notched his first assist of the season on the goal.

The Polars would extend their lead in the 21st minute on a slick move down the right side that saw Arriaga play in Tim Jaeger who slid the ball across to Joaquin Silva to tap home into an open goal.
The visitors would grow into the game from that point on and got one back before the break with Crown holding a 2-1 advantage at halftime.

Rockford picked up where they left off, scoring in the 57th minute to even the score up at 2-2.  Another goal came less than a minute later, also in the 57th minute and in a flash, the Polars were behind.
Ten minutes later, Rockford added a fourth and the game had officially been tipped on its head.

Crown got a late, late goal to give the home fans some hope, as Silva turned provider, returning the favor for Jaeger who scored his first goal of the season with under two-minutes remaining.
A last-gasp equalizer wasn't in the cards, however, and Crown fell by a 4-3 final.

The Polars will host Minnesota Morris in their conference opener, providing the finale for a homecoming Saturday that will see Crown host football, women's soccer, and finally men's soccer at 7:30 p.m
