Indoor Track and Field Competes at Gene Glader Classic

St. Paul, Minn. – The Crown Indoor Track & Field teams traveled across town to Bethel University for the Gene Glader Classic on Saturday.  The Storm came away with several school records as both the men's and women's teams had strong showings against a field that included numerous MIAC teams and NCAA Division II competition. 

On the men's side, the 2x200 meter relay team of Kidus Belete, Colten Pausch, Chris Nigh and Ryan Swecker recorded a third place finish in a time of 1:45.64 while Swecker placed tenth in the in the 200 meters in a time of 24:31.

UMAC Cross Country champion Jeremiah Van Acker ran a personal best in the mile, finishing in fourth place with a time of 4:35.02.

Van Acker was joined by Titus Wiggins, Austin Carlson, and Jeremiah Osterlund on the seventh place 4x400 team that ran a 3:52.57 time in that event. 

Crown also competed in field events, with first-year Dominic Tii recording a 10th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 35'3".

The Crown women had a big day, led by three second place finishes.

Abby Pausch came second in the mile, breaking her own school record in the event, running a time of 5:30.34.  The junior finished less than two seconds behind the winner in the event. 

Anna Brueckner finished second in the 600, breaking her own school record in a time of 1:44.11.

Crown also had a pair of top-five finishes in the high jump, with Taylor Weaver jumping 4'6.25" for a second place tie, and Juanel Roux 4'4.25" for a fourth place finish. 

Roux also placed in the 2 x 200 meter relay team that also included Brueckner, Emma Wall, and Elsie Estenson.  That team finished third in the event with a time of 2:04.45.

Finally, Estenson recorded a ninth place finish in the 60 meter high hurdles, running a time of 10.72, another Crown school record. 

As Crown prepares for the UMAC indoor championships, they will travel to Carleton next Saturday.
