St. Bonifacius, MN - The men and women's cross country teams raced on their home course for the UMAC Championship Meet.
Abby Pausch led the women with a 5th place finish and a time of 25:19.8, Greta Greninger finished with a time of 31:11.13 good for a 47th place finish.
"Running has taught me that I am capable of way more than I thought I was, and I am happy to say I left everything on the course this weekend. That's what cross country is about, giving it your all even on off days and being willing to push through the pain," said Pausch.
Jeremiah VanAcker once again took home the top spot for the second year in a row at the UMAC Championship meet. He finished with a time of 27:05.6 a new course record, about 14 seconds ahead of the next runner. "I have been blessed by the Crown College community in many ways in my career here, and that support played an instrumental role in both the teams and my individual success on Saturday," said VanAcker.
Josh Hagen finished with a time of 31:08.7 one second faster than his previous time on the home course good for a 25th place finish. Michael Gregoria finished the course with a time of 33:33.00 good for a 36th place finish.
The men's team was rounded out by 49th and 58th place finishes by Ethan Safford and CJ Nyland with times of 36:09.1 and 40:50.8 The men finished with a team score good enough for 5th out of 8 teams.
On Friday, November 11th Abby Pausch, Josh Hagen and Michael Gregoria will compete at the NCCAA National Meet in Joplin, MO.
Jeremiah VanAcker will move on to the NCAA regional Meet Saturday, November 12th.
