St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown cross country teams hosted a meet on their home course, the site of the 2022 UMAC Championships, on Friday. Despite the cold, and even some rain and hail, the meet was a success and the Crown runners posted solid performances against a field of familiar opponents.
For the women,
Abby Pausch finished 3
rd overall in a time of 25:28.42. Pausch will be looking for another strong finish and all-conference recognition at the conference meet in two weeks.
Greta Greniger also had a strong race, setting a new personal best time by 33 seconds. The effort was enough for a 26
th place finish individually.
For the men,
Jeremiah Van Acker won the individual title with a time of 27:12.50, a feat he will certainly be looking to duplicate in two weeks.
Austin Carlson finished in fifth place overall, running a 28:45.14, a 1:25 improvement from the same race last fall.
Josh Hagen,
Michael Gregoria, and
Ethan Safford combined to help Crown place third out of the eight teams competing.
Both teams will not set their sites on October 29
th, the date of the conference championship meet. The women's race starts at noon, while the men will run at 1 p.m.
