Mankato, Minn. – The Crown Polars women's soccer team traveled to Bethany Lutheran on Saturday and fell by a 4-1 score to the host Vikings. The Polars outshot their opponents 15-13 but couldn't convert those shots to goals.
Playing without starting goalkeeper
Ellie Taylor, the Polars fell behind 3-0 before an
Emma Domka penalty kick goal in the 52
nd minute pulled one back. Despite some good pressure, the Polars weren't able to climb any closer and a 70
th minute strike by BLC killed the game off.
Emergency goalkeeper
Riley Breitlow made seven saves before she had to leave the match through injury.
The Polars host North Central next Thursday as UMAC play continues.
