St. Bonifacius, Minn. – A quick start to both halves by the visitors spelled trouble for the Crown men's soccer team on Friday as visiting UW-Superior scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of each half to claim a 6-0 victory.
The game got off to an ominous start as the Yellowjackets scored just 27 seconds in and added two more goals in the ninth and 16
th minutes. Crown settled in for the rest of the half at that point, limiting the damage and getting to halftime down 3-0.
Superior came out hot in the second half as well, grabbing goals in 54
th, 59
th, and 60
th minutes to jump ahead 6-0.
Again, Crown was able to stabilize things and keep UW-superior off the scoreboard for the rest of the match, but weren't able to generate much in attack as the final score was 6-0. Crown was outshot 23-5 overall.
The Polars will look to bounce back on Saturday as they host Northland College at Old National Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m
