St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Three first half goals coming after the half hour mark were more than enough to propel the North Central Rams to a UMAC victory over the Storm. This game was much more even in terms of chances than the previous contest for Crown, but the score line did not necessarily reflect that.
The visitors got on the board just after 30 minutes gone in the match and poured in two more over the next ten minutes to stake themselves to a 3-0 lead. Goals in the 64th and 83rd minutes would push that lead to 5-0, which would be the final score.
Crown fired 16 shots, just six behind their opponents, but couldn't find a breakthrough. Foster Browning made eight more saves, while 18 field players appeared for the Storm. Tim Jaeger led the way with six shots, while Cole Matthys nearly found a late consolation goal in the dying moments of the game.
Crown has a tough road trip this coming weekend, heading to conference favorite UW-Superior on Friday and visiting Northland College on Saturday.
