GREENVILLE, S.C. — Crown College is proud to announce that the Athletic Department will rejoin the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) effective this upcoming semester for all 16 collegiate sports. The Storm have had considerable historical success in the NCCAA, competing consistently in national tournaments during their previous tenure from 1992-2008.
"This logical partnership between Crown and the NCCAA is an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Luke Herbert. "Joining the NCCAA will give Crown athletes more opportunities to compete at a national level and additional experience in high-quality postseason tournaments. We couldn't be more excited to partner with an organization with values and mission that perfectly aligns with our own."
Crown will continue to be a full National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III member with dual affiliation and join conference members Northwestern and North Central as members of both the NCAA and NCCAA. After Crown's re-admittance, the NCCAA will have 93 members all around North America. The Storm look forward to joining likeminded institutions and the #KingChasing mission, especially since the league has fantastic local competition in the Upper Midwest.
Crown College aims to provide premier athletic programs and experiences. The Department of Athletics is committed to graduating champions and leaders in faith, in the classroom, in the community, and in competition.
About the NCCAA
The National Christian College Athletic Association is the only intercollegiate athletics association where #RingChasing and #KingChasing converge. Through its 24 National Championships and 2 National Invitationals, the NCCAA strives to further the Great Commission of Christ. Christian Service Projects are held at each national event, giving student-athletes and coaches the opportunity to make an impact for Christ locally, nationally, and worldwide. Since 2000, over $386,000 has been given to support more than 7,500 student-athletes and coaches in their mission endeavors through the NCCAA's Sports Ministry Fund.
