ST. PAUL, Minn. --- First-year goalkeeper Molly Schmitz was named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after a stellar game in net led the Storm to their first win against Northland College since 2008. Schmitz had nine saves in the contest, only allowed one goal for a 90% save percentage, and made remarkable plays while battling a strong wind in her first collegiate soccer game.
This recognition is the Crown College Women's Soccer program's 17th since 2012 when the weekly awards started, all under Head Coach Jamie Ross. After completing their contest on Tuesday against the St. Scholastica Saints, the Storm will be off this weekend before heading to UW-Superior for a matchup with the Yellowjackets on Tuesday.
