ST. PETER, Minn. --- Crown College Softball traveled south Thursday for a doubleheader against their MIAC counterparts, the Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties. Unfortunately, they fell to the Gusties in both games, 11-3 and 11-0.
In game one, sophomore Savannah Ellis took the mound for the Storm, marking her ninth appearance on the bump this year and seventh as a starter. Ellis was also a threat on the basepaths, swiping her first base of the season. After a single to start the third inning, she stole second base to ignite the storm offense. Behind the plate, first-year Hailey Wilson had two hits, her sixth multi-hit game of the year.
Game two saw a combination of Abbie Carroll and Lindsay Glover on the mound. Raquel Gonzalez and Zeta Brown both had a hit each, highlighting the Storm offense.
The Storm finish their conference season Saturday at North Central with a doubleheader against the rival Rams.
