Storm Lose Heartbreaker to Knights, Fall in OT 1-0

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown College Women's Soccer lost a heartbreaker to the Martin Luther Knights on Tuesday night, 1-0. The score remained tied at zero apiece through regulation at the rainy Old National Bank Stadium. However, with 55 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, the Knights found a way and scored the contest's only goal, ending the game in their favor.

The Storm had several opportunities throughout the contest, in a very even matchup. Abigail Taylor and Emma Domka both had three attempts on target and the Storm led the Knights 9-8 in shots on goal.

First-year Molly Schmitz continued her fantastic season with 65 minutes in net, allowing no goals with five saves. However, after a collision with MLC's Avery Broyles, which caused Broyles to be issued a yellow card, she was forced to leave the remainder. Coming in from the field, Ellie Taylor relieved Schmitz and had two saves in her 33 minutes.

The Storm will continue their season on Friday, taking on the Bethany Lutheran Vikings in Mankato for their regular-season finale.
