Kemp Has Four Hits in Five At-Bats Against Lumberjills

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown College Softball faced the Northland Lumberjills on Saturday and fell in both contests 17-0 and 12-4.

In game one, the Storm had four hits, with Liz Kemp leading the way with two hits, continuing her stellar season where she's batting .471, fourth in the conference. Ally Adams hit her second double of the season, and Zoe Roberts recorded a single in the contest. First-year Abbie Carroll received the start, with Savannah Ellis relieving Carroll. Ellis went 4.2 innings in the contest.

In game two, the Storm were down one in the first inning but returned to take a 3-1 lead by the end of the third. Kemp had another fantastic day hitting the ball, going two for three with the Storm's lone extra-base hit and an RBI (scoring Maddie Noble) in the third. Zoe Roberts had a two-RBI single in the third inning to take that Crown lead, scoring Kemp and Zeta Brown. Unfortunately, Northland had a commanding offensive performance in the fourth and fifth innings to take the contest, 12-4. The Storm's last run came in the bottom of the fifth when Kuulei Ili hit a sacrifice fly to score Layrssa Vik.

Ashley Earick received the start in game two and went four innings. Lindsay Glover relieved Earick for the final inning.

The Storm have a busy schedule next week, facing the Martin Luther Knights on Tuesday and the Bethany Lutheran Vikings on Thursday. Both doubleheaders will be away and conference contests.
