SUPERIOR, Wis. --- Crown College Women's Track & Field competed in their second meet of the season on Saturday. They continued their excellence this season as, once again, Abby Hagen and Anna Brueckner won individual events.
Sophomore Abby Hagen took the mile to start the meet for the second time, running a 5:31 and besting the field by two seconds. Later, Hagen took second in the 800 and was less than a second away from a second win of the day.
Like Hagen, Anna Brueckner had an individual first and second podium finish to her name. The first-year won the 200 in 28.73 seconds and finished 0.27 seconds behind the winner in the 400.
The Storm women also won the 4x400 meter relay, with first-years Juanel Roux and Bay Watne joining Hagen and Brueckner for a 17-second margin of victory. Roux competed in several events during the meet and took second in the 60m hurdles, fifth in the 60m dash, and fourth in the high jump. Her high-jump performance set a school record.
First-year Ariel Peterson placed fourth in the long jump, fourth in the 60m hurdles, and fifth in the triple jump as she competed in the second meet of her collegiate career. Watne also competed in the 800.
The Storm Women will next compete at the UMAC Championship Meet. The meet's date and time will be announced in the coming days.
