St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown men's soccer team suffered a lopsided defeat to UMAC Co-Champions UW-Superior in their regular season finale Saturday, 18-0. The Yellowjackets had 42 shots on their way to nine goals in each half and had 13 different goal scorers.
The visitors were potent from the start of the match, getting two goals within five and a half minutes and never looking back.
Things got harder for the Storm when
Ivan Celedon was shown a red card near the end of the first half for the denial of a goal scoring opportunity and the home team was forced to play a man down for the remainder of the match.
The Storm honored five seniors before the game and each of them saw the field and enjoyed a send-off in front of the home crowd.
The team will look to rebound as NCCAA regional play starts next Thursday.
