Christopherson Pitches Gem to Defeat Carleton in Softball Opener

DUNDAS, Minn. --- Crown College Softball split with the Carleton Knights on Saturday as they began their season. In game one, junior Olivia Christopherson pitched a gem, getting the win, striking out seven, pitching a complete game, only allowing one run, and only allowing four hits to lead the Storm.

The Storm struck first in the game when a Liz Kemp-single drove in Samantha Collins. After the Knights knotted up the game, junior Raquel Gonzalez singled in first-year Kiara Hurt to retake the lead. Senior Olivia Dols then had an RBI fielder's choice to score sophomore Telma Roesler. Roesler had the one extra-base hit for Crown in the contest.

In game two, Dols and senior Zoe Roberts were the only two to record a hit in the contest. Sophomore Maddie Noble received the start for the Storm and pitched two innings. First-year Ashley Earick pitched 2.1 innings of relief, and first-year Taylor Krueger finished up pitching for the Storm.

Crown Softball next plays on March 6 when they take on the Edgewood College Eagles at the Augsburg Dome Tournament.
