ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown men's soccer team tied the Finlandia Lions 1-1 in a tough rainy matchup with the Michigan school. Senior
Josh Samsa scored his third career goal, his first of the year, with assists coming from both
Jason Kragt and
Mason Shrewsbury in the second half to put the Storm up 1-0. The Finlandia team countered with an amazing goal from distance to knot up the score at 1, and that score remained through two overtime periods, resulting in a tie for both squads.
First-year goalkeeper
Foster Browning had six saves and only one goal allowed in his second career start. Finlandia played the last minute and a half down a man after one of there players was ejected with a red card. The Lions also earned two yellows, and Crown had one, given to
Harvey Holcombe.
Crown heads on the road to return to UMAC action, facing UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon.
