ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown Men's Soccer won a huge game against the Martin Luther Knights on Wednesday evening as they shut out the Knights 2-0 for the UMAC victory. Martin Luther's momentum was stopped by the Storm as the Knights were coming fresh off a victory against UMAC powerhouse St. Scholastica. Crown wins their third conference game of the year and remains in the playoff hunt.
Junior
Mason Shrewsbury scored the first goal of the game on a pass from senior
Storm Heyer to go up 1-0 in the first half. In the second half, with mere minutes remaining, Crown secured their lead as junior
Jason Kragt finished off a
Chad Anenson run for a beautiful score. Â
"We connected passes, trusted each other the entire time, [and] made some big plays," said junior Anenson. "[We] put our shots on target and in the net and finally started having fun out there together. That's huge for us."Â
Senior keeper
Eli Etzel had his first shutout of the season. Etzel had five saves to secure his third win of the year. Crown continues UMAC play as they head to Minneapolis to take on North Central for an afternoon game on Saturday.Â
