St. Bonifacius, Minn. — It was senior night for the Crown women's soccer team on Homecoming Saturday, and the seniors had something to celebrate as Crown won their first game of the season. First-year
Lottie Ellis scored her first two goals of her collegiate career in a Crown 4-0 win over the Mount Mary Blue Angels.
Ellis started the scoring early with a goal in the sixth minute of gameplay. Sophomore
Anna Kragt had a goal in the 28th minute as she was able to run past the Blue Angel keeper. Sophomore
Samantha Collins scored her first goal of her collegiate career with a goal on a pass from
Katelyn Carter to put the Storm up 3-0, and Ellis scored again in the second half to defeat Mount Mary 4-0.
In goal,
Michaela Cowman was able to win her first game of her collegiate career, and after ten saves this game, she is probable to finish second in the NCAA in total saves for 2017, only behind Samantha Springstead of SUNY Cobleskill and tied with Noelle Sass of Newbury College. With Cowman reaching ten saves, she has recorded double-digits saves in every match so far this season.
Crown finishes the season with a 1-17 record.
