Northfield, Minn. – Crown College's men and women cross country teams competed in the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman
Mackenzie Nelson (Gig Harbor, Wash./Gig Harbor) led the team with a 25:28 5,000-meter race. Freshman
Kaylee Fickle (Maple Grove/Osseo), junior
Elizabeth Kern (Arlington, Wash./Arlington), freshman
Kristyn Haar (Lakeville/Lakeville South), and sophomore
Hannah Myers (Remer/Deer River) rounded out the team's performance. The women's team finished 20th overall.
Freshman
Ian Galligan (Sauk Rapids/Sauk Rapids-Rice) led the Crown Men's team with a 31:05 8,000-meter race. Fellow freshman,
Andy Taverna (Sibley, Iowa/Sibley-Ocheyedan), was close behind with a 31:37. Juniors
Breier Sanders (Riverside, Calif./Chanhassen) and
Joshua Coleman (Kiel, Wis./ Kiel) were the final two finishers for Crown.
Crown men and women's cross country teams next compete at the Martin Luther Invitational in New Ulm on the first of October.
