Claire Fredstrom attended St. Paul Bible College for two years from 1957 – 1959, and was a member of the original men's basketball team. Claire was named that team's MVP in both 1958 and 1959.
He married his high school sweetheart, Marianne and they have been married for 47 years. They have three grown children, Tim, Kathy & Roger. They also have 6 wonderful grandchildren ranging in ages 2-12. Claire feels that having three adult children who love God, are great parents, and are respected, productive people is, by far the greatest highlight in life. But by saying that, Claire and Marianne realized totally that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain.
When Claire reflects back to his days at SPBC he feels it was a wonderful time when his life was being shaped and his time playing basketball was a part of that. Living in the residence hall where Dean of Men, Joe Tewinkel, and his family lived and interacting with a group of guys from all over the world was a great experience. 50 years later he is still enjoying some of those friendships. Other growing experiences for him included participating in the family style dining opportunities that were a part of the Dining Hall routine and the Friday night Prayer Band groups as well as the daily chapels. Besides these informal, educational experiences many of the classes taught by godly men and women had a significant lasting impact on his life. Claire feels that his two years at SPBC were good years in every way.
